Two Things Beyonce's "Run the World (Girls)" Video Got Right: Fashion & Women's Wealth!

Beyonce's New Album Cover "4"
After an almost 3 year hiatus Beyonce premiered her new music video for single "Who Run The World (Girls)" last night on American Idol.

While many are concentrating on the dance moves which by the way are great, or her inspiration for the video and beats, we are taking it one step further and discussing the two things Beyonce most definitely got right. The incredible designer fashion and the fact that women (girls) are surpassing men in education and wealth.

1. The Fashion: In the video Beyonce changed outfits over six times and features only the best of the best high fashion designers including Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, Emilio Pucci, Gareth Pugh and Jean Paul Gaultier (see photos below).

2. Girls Do Run the World at least in the U.S:  Most importantly what Beyonce did get right is the message of the song itself, that women are quickly closing the gap in education and wealth and are surpassing men in those areas.  It's predicted that in the next few generations women will control more than Two-thirds of the nation's wealth, see more stats and the full article from Virginia Tech University discussing the success of women in the U.S.
According to the U.S. Department of Education, in the 2005-06 school year, women made up:
  • 57.5 percent of all students earning bachelor's degrees.
  • Nearly 60 percent of students earning master’s degrees.
  • 48.9 percent of students earning Ph.D.s.
  • Women control nearly 60 percent of the wealth in the United States.
