D-Efeitos

Designer Creates Penis Trousers for Men

This is a bit over the top but we think it's worth sharing, have a good laugh, we certainly did! Designer Isabel Mastache kicked off Madrid Fashion Week with her avant-garde, penis trousers for men. The penis was sown outside the pant crotch.

Hmm we have two questions, the first is who on earth would buy this? And secondly would wearing it in public be considered a crime for indecent exposure or public nudity? Take a look at the photos and live runway video below.

Entertainment & Celebrity:

Lady Gaga Scarecrow; Farmer Uses Gaga Replica to Scare Away Birds.

Nigel Britten, a farmer in Surrey created a replica of Lady Gaga's famous Brits Awards Red Carpet costume. Not because he is an adoring Gaga fan, but rather because he wanted to keep the pigeons away from his wheat crop.

Mr Britten explained "We were laughing at Lady GaGa's outfit and that extraordinary wig and talking about how scary she looked. My fiancee Marti joked that I should make a scarecrow which looked like her. I laughed and then it occurred to me it was actually a very good idea."

Well it worked because Lady Gaga has scared away the birds and attracted media attention for Mr. Britten and his farm, that must be great for business. Hmm, we wonder what lady Gaga has to say about this.

Entertainment & Celebrity

Anthony Hopkins a.k.a Hannibal Lecter thinks Runway Models and Celebrity Socialites are Anorexic, Souless Machines.

Anthony Hopkins was brutally honest with his opinion of the models on the fashion catwalk and celebrity socialites like Paris Hilton on the red carpet.

He stated, "We're living in a pretty strange time. I went into a shop to buy my wife some clothes and I wanted them gift-wrapped. And they had this big plasma screen on with these women on the catwalk. I thought, 'God almighty, what have we become?' These girls - anorexic, walking like machines, no soul."

"You look at fashion magazines and you think, 'What are we living in?' You look at the red carpet, Paris Hilton, you know, these people and you think, 'Is there anything going on up there?' It's a mass enslavement and it's kind of fascism. And it's the androgyny of it; the androgyny of the human soul. I don't think people think any more. But maybe I'm just old."

Wow he really told them! A bit harsh but unfortunately he's really not that far off base.

Health and Fitness: Leona Lewis Transforming!

Leona Lewis Sheds a Few Pounds and Shows off Her New Tattoo

In recent weeks Leona Lewis has revealed her new figure at the BRITS and now her new tattoo at last night's charity fundraiser The Love Ball in London's Camden.

It seems Leona is coming into her own and we love the changes. Hopefully she's not influenced by the entertainment industry's need to be 'too skinny, with an over-sexualized bad girl persona' because we love humble and sweet Leona.

Leona's new tattoo runs from the nape of her neck to the middle of her back and pays tribute to her love of horses.

Leona used a detox diet to drop from a size 14 to a size 10. She definitely looks more like her former self when she won the X-Factor.

Fashion and Beauty: Kardashian-Bebe Line

Tim Gunn Disses Kardashian-Bebe Line & Kardashian's accused of Fendi knockoff.

During a recent interview Design Guru and Project Runway Star Tim Gunn was very forthcoming with his critic of the new Kardashian-Bebe clothing collection which debuted during NY Fashion Week.

When asked if he was a supporter of the line, Tim Gunn responded "No! I just think the Kardashians have an absence of taste and I don’t think that that should be perpetuated. I’m sorry I’m sounding like an old farty snob but it bothers me."

This interview comes on the heels of claims that the Kardashian-Bebe dress worn by Kim below is a knockoff the Fendi dress featured on the Spring 2010 Runway.

Hmm we wonder how long this Kardashian-Bebe partnership will last with all the negative publicity. Then again in Hollywood all publicity is good publicity.

Amanda May, managing director for the Canadian designer said “We wanted women to know they don’t have to be a size zero to wear a Mark Fast dress- curvier women can look even better in one.”

what color is love?

Mirrors #2
mirrors: an hour glass leaking its dust into the transparent black
like the fiery explosion of love after he mixed in his ash with time
how I, broken and laying in its pieces of shattered glass am color blind and
how you wish that you could erase the sunset, but now we can't go back
like bells: ringing and burning through the lies we carry around in our hands like
bullets of hope, smearing fear across our faces, too late to be golden
too late to re-paint the blue back into your wrinkling eyes
clocks: tick tock along to the beat of our stolen hearts
time is running away somewhere with the wind, playing hide and go seek in the shadows of the sky
there is no time: there are clocks, to slow the progression of
the truth who defied the mirror in all its glory and horror like he,
beauty once sprayed into our eyes, she is, buried beneath our feet , and with the hourglass
that we can only hear though, we can never truly find.

If you think about it
I like when the sky dumps its rain onto my head
while the sun is still shining and not because I like
to see the rainbows because there is no color
there is black, and there is gray
and all else is mere illusion. collage of facade
of non existent beauty to drop on our heads
as we pretend to be happy while bathing in life's
essential poison. The sun wants to dry our tears for us
but the sun isn't really honest. And he only comes out
after the rain has done its eternal damage, the sun cannot
save you or me, for that matter, and its fraudulent light
is only a mere shadow behind the truth behind rain bleeding
down the into the clogged drain. Telling the truth is temporary
though lies will forever remain
back in the shadow of our hearts the sun will indeed,
come out again. Just remember what it feels like when
it shines on you, everything is possibly nothing
and nothing is probably meaningful,
a facade to drenched in truth for it to remain
remember the dream forever
truth is nothing, drink up the lies and drain the reality
happiness and joy are

-MM

did you ever hear me crying in the bathroom?
did you see the light at the end of the street
that night when the sun was exploding as I was driving to
your house, rotting the black lust burning under our feet?
and was it you who blew the smoke my way and
who threw the dead rock at my window when everything shattered at once,
 that one day

and was it your idea to make the radio play
every song, on every station, for every fucking one to
remind me of you, it had to have been you
that one night when you made it rain just when
I thought I was finally going to be okay again

did you see my reflection in the mirror in your house
forging a smile as you wandered away
do you remember hearing me crying in secrecy
in the bathroom of that house, that one day?
you never asked but, i would have said I was okay

you always are always
 too fast for me
to catch
you before you run away

Thank you for everything, fashion gone rogue!
I am sad to deliver the news that as of today, fashion gone rogue will no longer be. The reasons and conditions as to why are explained in her note posted on the site. If she earns a minimum of 2,400$ she will be able to continue her posts and updates on the site. I love this site and am deeply saddened. It seems a bit unethical to be funding and donating money to a fashion blog as there is so much global tragedy occurring in present day (Haiti) however, it would be wonderful if this lovely site could be revived and maintained.

Entertainment & Celebrities: BAFTA 2010

BAFTA 2010 Red Carpet Fashion

Last night's BAFTA (British Academy Film Awards) brought out the who's-who of entertainment and British Royalty with Prince William making a first time appearance to the event. Other highlights of the evening; Hurt Locker won 6 Awards including Best Picture and Best Director with Kathryn Bigelow beating out her ex-hubby Cameron James' Avatar in what many are calling the battle of the exes.

And then there was the red carpet fashion with all things black, white and everything in-between. We longed for some color on the red carpet, maybe the upcoming Oscar Awards will provide that. Below are our favorite looks from the evening.

(From left to right Vera Farmiga in Marcesa,  Claire Daines in Burberry w/Tiffany Diamonds and Bonnie White in Silk Prada)

(From left to right Meredith Ostrom in Catherine Walker, Carey Mulligan in Vionet and Kate Winslet in Stella McCartney w/Tiffany Diamonds)

Age of Eclecticism

So, I again want to apologize for my lack of and inconsistent posts. I have been really busy with school work, modelling, etc. and have been too tired to actually write anything if not necessary. I have however, been keeping up with the shows for NYC fashion week thanks to the lovely and convinient, style.com, which posts the recent shows and their complete collection (including details, backstage, and beauty photos).

Some of my favorites thus far:

Proenza Schouler

Anna Sui

(wow I love, love, love this look as worn by the beautiful Snejana)

Alexander Wang

Marc by Marc Jacobs

I love this collection. I kind of grew resistant to the like of Marc Jacobs (all lines, including Louis Vuitton) but, this collection is wonderfully styles, boyish yet sexy, and kind of school girl chic. He has redeemed himself indeed!!

Jeremy Scott

Diesel Black Gold

Rebecca Taylor

It is safe to say that I am excited for this next coming Fall/winter 2010 season fashion wise, anyway. I am glad to see that many of the stylistic, color, and fabric trends of Winter 2009 will still be in fashion, only in a more updated and scrambled form. We seem to be seeing a lot of the same types of print, fabrics, and materials being used except not as simply rather, more kind of, thrown together. Mixing of different prints, animal tones, color schemes, etc. were very popular as well as the ever so versatile heeled ankle bootie, plain, embelished, or jewel toned in color.
As seen on the Proenza Shcouler runway, mixing of silky black mini dresses paired with black tights, velvet and rich jewel tone blues and purples will be staples in fall wardrobes across the globe. I also loved the simplicity and nonchalance displayed in Diesel's show. The plain and sexy tee shirts, cut off shorts, and denim vests and button down shirts will also be a continuing trend from this upcoming Summer season's effortless look.
Rebecca Taylor maintains her stance as feminine-cool in the fashion world combining girlie, flouncy mini dresses with bold, heavy coats, leopard print jackets, sexy, bohemian hats, and sparkly grey tights.
Of course, the wonderful collection of Marc by Marc Jacobs encorportated perhaps, all of my favorite trends into one and well. I love the lacy detail, abundence of red jackets and skirts, polished skirts and tailored yet, loose fitted slacks, striped sweaters and fitted jackets and best of all, patch work denim pants and dresses.
Skater-girl chic designer Mr. Wang kept the velvet trend alive and perhaps, revived in his chic collection. I also particularly loved the thigh high sock/knit pants combined with velvet/leather crops tops. Once again, another trend from '09 that will continue to thrive.
Anna Sui was also another favorite of mine this season, shockingly enough as I usually am not overly impressed by her 70's inspired designs. This collection to me, seemed very doll-like, girlie, and also very bohemian combining delicate laces, swriled prints, bouncy sleeves, and subtle colored fur coats and shawls with tough, biker chick lace up boots. Another shoe trend that I am eternally thankful will be in style once again.

Beauty
Most of the show's concepts for beauty were relatively laid back and minimal. Fortunately for me, many designers displayed a right down the middle part and straight, or slightly wavy/messy hair worn down. Some (Wang) even styled the girls hair extra greasy and slicked back carelessly to the  side in order to enhance that skater, rock and roll sex pot that Wang often creates through his line. Makeup was minimal and natural as well. Many neutral tones, plain mascara, and little or no blush were shown (seen on models Annabelle and Kate at Marc by Marc). However, some designers maintained this season's trend for bare eyes and face and a bold plum, red, or magenta lip.

Models of the Moment:
In this season I saw many new, successful it girl models gracing the runway and majority of fashion editorials that I had not seen in former seasons. Many of them fresh faced and extremely young of course but nevertheless beautiful and a wonderful, new edition to New York's fashion scene.
My favs:

Amanda Norgaart:

Lindsey Wixson

(gracing the new Spring/Summer Miu Miu campaign...killer looks by the way :) )

Imogen Morris Clarke

wow these portraits are fucking unbelievable...does anyone know who shot this?

"something in the way"
(my outfit today as inspired by the killer street style of my new favorite, Amanda (see above)

(Vintage silk black mini dress, black panty hose, knee high socks over, H&M leather bomber jacket, Jeffrey Campbell for LF Alexa Booties <3)
