CFDA Fashion Awards

Monday night, Hollywood came out in full force to support their favorite designers at this year's CFDA Fashion Awards, held at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center. While they have commonly been known as "The Fashion Oscars", the CFDA Awards have been recognizing creative talent and supporting emerging designers for a little over two decades. Being held in Lincoln Center, the new home of New York Fashion Week come September, they served as somewhat of a pre-opening ceremony.

This year, in the midst of all the glitz and glamour was a touching and emotional tribute to the late Alexander McQueen. Sarah Jessica Parker, dressed in a McQueen gown that was specifically chosen for her by Sarah Burton, the label's new Creative Director, took the stage and paid her respects to the late McQueen with a touching heartfelt speech. Following that, models took to the runway (a replica of the room where McQueen's last collection was shown) in a solemn presentation of his final 16 looks.
