happy birthday hello kitty!
I thought this would be of interest to some of you Hello Kitty fans, including myself and, my best friend Erica. Sanrio is celebrating their 35th anniversary by collaboarting with over 80 different popular artist including, Colin Christian, Amada Vissel, Huck Gee, Ron English, and many more. The new exhinbiion called, Three Apples will include a three dimensional exhibition of Hello Kitty things. This exhibition went on through Oct -Nov 15th at the Royal T in Culver City, CA, and was free of charge to everyone! I am pretty damn bummed that I missed out on it but, here are some photos of some of the awesome works of art!
"WHo shot rock N roll?"
At the Brooklyn Art Museum this new exhibition, "Who Shot Rock N' Roll: A Photographic HIstory, 1955 to Present," features photopgrahps of iconic musicians taken by some famous photogrpahers including Richard Avedon and Dianne Arbus. I love photo journalism because it is so raw and probably, the least tainted and biased form of art that has the power to somewhat accurately document emotion, feelings, events, memories, and anything, really. Some of the images are really awesome. There are photos from all types of music legends from Eminem to Johnny Cash to Tupac Shakur. Pretty awesome and is still going on until Jan. 3.
*New Favorite Magazine
Lula
I was browsing through some magazines the other evening and I stumbled across this Lula. With stunningly vibrant glossy sheets of paper full of intense color, strangely beautiful models, quirky styling, and superb photogrpahy, this magazine is my new favorite. Like most less well known magazines, it is a bit more pricey (due to its enhanced photogprahy and much less adverstizming to fill up its pages). It is fairly new with only 9 issues out this far. I love how it has a little girl and doll like scarpbook thing whihc, it advertizes but the editorasl are very sexy and high fashion as well. But it nonetheless awesome and worth checking out.
