Last night, New York City's finest came out to celebrate the 94th birthday of Zelda Kaplan. Her dear friends Keri Ingvarsson, Mia Morgan, and Jake Bright co-hosted the soiree along with Keep a Child Alive and Orsay restaurant. In addition to celebrating Zelda's birthday, proceeds from the party went to the charity Keep A Child Alive.
Keep A Child Alive is dedicated to providing life-saving anti-retroviral treatment, care and support services to children and families whose lives have been affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India by directly engaging the global public in the fight against AIDS.
Guests arrived to the Upper East Side's Orsay where they were escorted upstairs to the new lounge, Entre Nous, and greeted with champagne and hors d'oeuvres.
This birthday party was a far cry from the bustling nightclubs where Zelda can be found many nights during the week. This was a more intimate affair with great people, great speeches, and great atmosphere. You could truly feel the love each guest has for Zelda and the feeling is mutual. Zelda spent the night mingling and taking the time to talk with every guest, each one holding a special place in her heart.
Photos and paintings of Ms. Zelda Kaplan, by artists Emma Cleary, Gomillion Leupold, Caroline Knopf, Gideon Lewin, and Andres Serrano, were splashed along the walls as guests bid on the pieces in a silent auction. All procedes from the auction went to Keep A Child Alive.
As the auction went on, all of Zelda's favorite people mingled and chatted with Ms. Zelda herself.

Zelda blew out her 94 candles and gave a lovely speech. She really is the true definition of class and elegance.
After the cake was cut, the dance floor opened up and Zelda, who used to be a dance instructor, had the men lining up to Salsa with her!
The King Collective is honored to have been a part of such a wonderful event and is proud to say that we helped raise money for Keep A Child Alive.
If you would like to read more about Zelda's birthday, it was covered by many major media outlets such as Patrick McMullan Co., Guest of a Guest, New York Social Diary, Paper Magazine, The New York Post, and Blackbook.
