Celebrity Style: The Red Hair Trend. Is Red The New Blonde?

More celebrities are dumping their blonde and brunette manes for the more noticeable red this spring. Is red the new blonde? Celebrities like Rihanna and most recently Drew Barrymoore and Blake Lively are all embracing this trend.

We've done a round up of current red head celebrities, while taking a look back at on-screen red heads that capitavated us like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman and Kate Winslet in Titanic. It seems red is most definitely the new blonde but we recommend you visit a hair professional to get the shade of red that best suits your comlexion.

Blake Lively debut her new red mane last night at the TIME 100 Gala. It perfectly complemented her Zuhair Murad couture gown.

Updated May 2 2011: Since posting this story Scarelett Johansson has joined the red head club, she debut her new auburn look at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.

Twilight's Ashley Green opted for a darker maroon red.
