The King Collective hosts the (CAPSULE) Afterparty


Guests waiting eagerly for the afterparty to begin.

The (CAPSULE) fashion trade show descended upon the gallery district of Chelsea earlier this week. Among the global mix of progressive designers and premium streetwear labels for men were our Swedish faves, The Local Firm, Our Legacy and Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair, the ever-talented Danish designer Henrik Vibskov, and the more locally grown Alife, based out of the Lower East Side.

After a hard day’s work selling clothes and looking cool, what better way to relax than to have a beer while watching the sun set over the Hudson? The King Collective hosted an after-party on the rooftop of Center 548, sponsored by Heineken. The rooftop lounge of (CAPSULE) was the perfect venue for an after-work dance party with street cred, featuring an installation of golden hula hoops by conceptual architect Annie Kwon and EMEHT agency. Kitsune, the French fashion label and electronic music outfit, did double duty, showing their wares earlier in the day, then providing an irresistible dance soundtrack for the night.

Celebrity stylist Mia Morgan and nightlife doyenne Zelda Kaplan were among the first to arrive our event (and their evening looks inspired Guest of a Guest e-zine to dub the duo among ‘best dressed of the week’) trailed by an HBO crew filming material for a potential documentary.

Best Dressed of the Week!

Members of The King Collective, including womenswear designer Richie Rich and Lialia’s founder Julia Alarcon, also celebrated with us, along with Andrew Mukamal, formerly of People’s Revolution. The rain interrupted to make the open-air festivities a bit uncomfortable, the hardcore stayed and the party continued.
